Baan Phonsawan
Baan Phonsawan is a residential facility and pre-school for approximately 40 socioeconomically disadvantaged children. The children served include many who may be orphans, have histories of abuse and homelessness, or are Indigenous children without official proof of nationality “undocumented”. The home is managed and operated by Thai Catholic sisters, members of the Amantes de la Croix, based in Vietnam. Dulabhatorn staff provides weekly group activities at the home focused on promoting positive social and emotional development. Through literature, art, and music, children explore and reflect on personal preferences, hopes and dreams. Children are encouraged to share with one another during and upon completion of activities. Recently, cooking has been introduced as a means for children to experience the pride in following directions and achieving a satisfying goal.
